The British film Institute (BFI) selects CommittedGiving.uk.net to provide online donation services.
Established in 1933, the BFI promotes understanding and appreciation of film and television heritage and culture and runs a range of activities and services. It cares for the world's richest and most significant collection of film and television. The BFI National Archive preserves almost one million titles.
Curators of the BFI National Archive have identified a collection of films in desparate need of restoration with nine of Alfred Hitchcock’s early silent films being the first to seek rescue through the support of the BFI campaign.
Hitchcock’s nine surviving silent films are among the most important in British cinema history. Decades of wear and tear have left them in urgent need of restoration.
This need prompted the launch of the ‘Rescue the Hitchcock 9’ campaign, the first time that the BFI has used online fundraising as an integral part of the supporting process. And, to partner them in this ground breaking initiative they chose CommittedGiving.uk.net to provide them with the online and support services.
Hannah Partington, Fundraising Manager, BFI, says:
We have been very impressed with the way in which CommittedGiving.uk.net guided and supported us through the setup of this campaign. They couldn’t have been more professional and helpful. Thanks to them the online campaign has got off to a fantastic start. I am sure this will only be the first of many similar campaigns.
